Pierangelo Maset: “The principle HYDE and the contemporary Art”

It's helpful to imagine the HYDE principle to understand contemporary art. This principle is embedded in the development of art and it guarantees artistic innovation and productivity. Looking back at the art of the last century, especially Marcel Duchamp's (see picture "Duchamp") contribution is striking. He facilitated the continuation of art from its difference to non-art. Already at the beginning of the 20th century he imported daily-life-objects ("fountain") into the context of art and declared the whole city of New York as a work of art itself. The HYDE principle cannot be represented as art, but because of this fact it makes art possible. The esthetic of the disappearance is for this as important as the esthetic of the unexpected. (see picture "Ghost") HYDE insists and is present, for example during the documenta X and other important exhibitions.
